#1085: 2016, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Skeleton Tree

by Charlie_East_West on September 15, 2016

When Nick Cave’s 15 year old son Arthur died of head injuries after falling from a cliff last July, a parent’s greatest fear and worst nightmare became so horribly real for him.

After a period of private mourning, Cave has now released a breathtakingly beautiful, grief-strewn album about the tragic loss of his son.

A well as being a typically fearless work of art, it is a wonderful, albeit brutally heartbreaking record. It also makes you think. Our lives are so consumed with perceived stresses, yet, when it comes down to it, all that matters is love.

Everything can change in the blink of an eye. So we all need to enjoy life’s joyous moments while they last and always remind those close to us about how much we love and cherish them.

Here is the title track, Skeleton Tree. Listen to it. It will break your heart in two.
