Week 4: Prat – The Lancashire Constabulary

The belated Prat of the Week Award for a fortnight ago goes to the Lancashire police force prat_icon

This is a somewhat belated post. Indeed our Week 5 Prat Award has already been posted.  But for the sake of completeness, the missing Prat of the Week Award for Week 4 of 2016, goes to the boys and girls in blue of Lancashire.

We all got our words mixed from time to time (just ask Ray North). And we did all the more so when we were kids.  But in a world where a bloke can get arrested, convicted and imprisoned for an obviously frustrated tweet joke, it still came as something of a surprise to find that the Lancashire police thought it necessary to interview a 10 year old boy in Accrington and seize his laptop, for writing that he lived in a ‘terrorist house’ when he meant he lived in a ‘terraced house’.

As Marge Gunderson says in the Coen Brothers’ Fargo (the film, not the tv series),  ‘not sure about your police work, there’.
