Week 42: Hero – Nicola Sturgeon

Our hero of the week is SNP Leader and Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, for coming up with the most perfect reposte to David Cameron during her SNP Conference Speech.

Sturgeon said:- “The Prime Minister’s attitude to Scotland betrays the worst characteristics of his government – arrogant, patrician and out of touch. Pig-headed, some might say.”

Quite. Absolutely-spot-on-the-money-hitting-the-nail-on-the-head from Nicola Sturgeon. As well as being correct, it was the way she told it. A punchline delivered with pitch-perfect satrical post-piggate relish and insolence.

Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP continue to motor away from everyone else within Scottish politics. Another majority awaits them in the Scottish elections in May 2016. They are ruthlessly professional, well drilled and are the most effective opposition to the Tories right now.

*Nicola Sturgeon was spotted at Twickenham today watching another bunch of heroes from this week – the Scottish rugby team. Sport can be gut wrenchingly cruel at times. Thanks Craig Joubert. Thanks a fucking bunch. “Pig-headed” refereeing, some might say.
