#971: 2004, Frank Sinatra, Silent Night

by Charlie_East_West on December 24, 2014

The kids are asleep (or sleeping with one eye open). I have just drunk/stolen the very generous offering from my 7 year old daughter of a large of glass single malt for Father Christmas. He is due any minute and isn’t going to be best pleased to see an empty glass by the fireplace.

I am not a big fan of Christmas carols, but I have always had a soft spot for Silent Night. Frank Sinatra sprinkles a touch of magic Christmas dust on this song. The vocals were recorded in 1991, and the arrangement and release of the recording was released in 2004. As usual, Sinatra completely nails the required tone, timing and nuance of the song.

Take it away Frank…

Merry Christmas everybody. May your God (or imaginary friend) go with you.

Regards,
Charlie.
