Cameron has tax cuts for the rich written in his DNA

The above statement gives us another reminder that we cannot trust anything that comes spewing out of David Cameron’s mouth. He is a hypocrite. At today’s Prime Minister’s Questions, he refused to rule out further cuts to the top rate of tax. Bollocks to his previous 50p tax rate pledge. Bollocks to his wish for a transparent government. Bollocks to “we’re all in this together.”

Labour’s recent announcement that they would reintroduce the 50p rate for those earning more than £150,000 a year shows that they are on the right side of this debate. The Tories however, are on the right side of the rich, but the wrong side of the wider electorate on this debate.

A new poll for the Times indicates that the public is in agreement Labour’s 50p tax plan. A YouGov survey found 61% of people in favour of the policy and just 26% opposed. Critically for Ed Miliband, 40% of voters said they would still want the policy on moral grounds if it still did not raise any extra revenue.

But, I expect nothing else from David Cameron and the Tories surrounding this policy. Cutting taxes for the rich and hammering the poor is written in their political DNA.

Roughly speaking (and when it comes to Tories there’s no other way to speak) – they’ve reckoned that if they can get the votes of everyone who thinks the Shadow Chancellor’s got a silly name (yesterday’s HoC debate) they’ll get back next year with a healthy majority.

Who am I (of all people) to say they’re wrong? The polls are moving nicely for them, too.

Mike – I expect a huge dirty tricks campaign from the Tories and the right wing media between now and May 2015. Ed Miliband will be targeted like Kinnock in 1992.

Indeed. And with the same result, methinks.

The Tories are shit for sure. I will never votr for the hippocritical b*******s. However Labour are more shit. They lied on just a out every thing. I will never vote for these f*****s either. There performance is as follows:

Brown said in a speech “British jobs for British people”. Then let untold number of immigrants

labour joined two illegal wars

Blair permitted the murder witness Dr Kelly to allow the wars to happen

Labour caused the lasting recession ever.
