#783: 1969, The Stooges, No Fun

by Jackie_South on October 23, 2013

Things seem like a hell of a lot of hard work at the moment: working sixty hour plus weeks and feeling like I’m getting little back except stress, angst and a fair bit of antagonism. Plus a nagging sense of guilt about not doing enough on this blog for a while.

So, I’m turning to the stripped-back genius of Mr Iguana Pop to sum things up: a great song to wallow in when things get stressful, particularly when the guitar rips in for the back half of the track to create one of the most brilliant pieces of proto-punk cacophony going.

Forty-four years on, The Stooges are still there to see us through the difficult days.

Get drunk, eat cake, be bad, smoke, watch your favourite TV, find a nice spot on the couch, surf the net – make a conscious decision to say fuck off to the next ungrateful bastard, come and visit your friend up North!
